Times of Youth: For those who don’t know about you and your work, can you tell us a little about yourself?

Suraj Patel: I’m Suraj Patel, full time Mumbai based artist from India. I am just in love with colors. I create colorful, bold and vibrant abstract paintings.

Times of Youth: How would you describe your work to someone who has never known about it?

Suraj Patel: My work is all about colors, texture and feelings. I do abstract paintings in acrylic. Painting is like meditation to me. I am always attracted to texture. I love to create different surfaces using various tools, mainly palette knife. I never think before painting. I just start with fresh colors and positive energy that creates beautiful and engaging piece of art. If somebody gets engaged with my paintings and feels happy, that is success to me.
Times of Youth: What sparked your initial interest in arts?

Suraj Patel: It started from school days. I was good at drawing and painting. My drawing sir is my inspiration and he encouraged me to carry on my passion.
