One Young World has launched a global ‘Local Organising Committee’ model. Known as NYLOCs ( ‘National Young Leaders Organising Committees’)

The One Young World NYLOC for Pakistan is chaired by Naila Mir. Naila has 16 years experience centered around sustainable business, corporate social responsibility, employee engagement, partnerships, and strategic communications. She recently established her own not-for-profit network, P3 Collective, to help young people achieve their purpose and collectively make an impact. Naila is a passionate champion of young leaders and is working hard to support bright young talent from Pakistan to participate in the upcoming One Young World Summit in Bogotá.

One Young World’s newly established Local Organising Committee for Pakistan is proud to announce one Delegate scholarship place for an impactful young leader from Pakistan to attend the One Young World Summit 2017 in Bogotá, 4-7 October.

What does the scholarship include?

  1. Access to the One Young World Summit 2017 in Bogotá, Colombia
  2. Hotel accommodation on a shared basis between 4 October and 7 October
  3. Catering which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  4. Transport between the Summit accommodation and the Summit venues
  5. Summit hand-outs and support materials.
  6. The cost of travel to and from Bogotá.
  7. Post-Summit, all ‘Delegates’ become lifetime members of the One Young World Ambassador network which spans 196 countries with over 8,000 members.

Who can apply?

In order to apply you must: 

  1. Aged 18 – 30
  2. A national of Pakistan

Candidates must demonstrate:

  • Evidence of commitment to creating positive change in Pakistan. This commitment can come in many forms; ranging from a high level of involvement in community initiatives to social entrepreneurship or from leading responsible business practices to public service
  • Leadership ability and examples
  • Concern and knowledge of local and related global issues must be evident
  • Ability to generate, articulate and achieve impactful ideas
  • Teamwork

The Matsumae International Foundation (MIF) is a nongovernmental organization whose Fund is solely based on donations from many Japanese people who have responded with goodwill to Dr. Shigeyoshi MATSUMAE’s call.

Concept of Founder of MIF, Dr. Shigeyoshi MATSUMAE: In order for Japan to coexist peacefully with the other nations of the world, and to facilitate the tasks that await our young people in the 21st century, we are now trying to prepare a forum for Japan’s international activities. In this way, I believe, we will be able to open up a path to the future that will preserve our nation and mankind.

OpportunityResearch Fellowship

Host Institution In Japan: Applicants are free to select host institutions (university research laboratories, national research institutions or the corresponding facilities of private industry)

Funded By: The Matsumae International Foundation (MIF)

Fields of Research Study: Fields of research such as natural science, engineering and medicine are considered with first priorities.

Eligible Countries & Regions: Open for All (except Japan)

Period & Number of Fellowships: For a period of from three to six months; the number of fellowships is about 20 persons each year.

Benefits of Research Fellowship Programme:

The following supports are provided to the successful applicants-

  1. Allowance for research and stay: ¥220,000- per month is provided for the purpose of tuition payment, expenses for research materials, and miscellaneous living expenses.
  2. Insurance: Overseas Travel Accident/Sickness Insurance: (1) Personal accident insurance with death benefit and medical treatment, (2) Sickness insurance with death benefit and medical treatment.
  3. Air transportation: A coach class round-trip air tickets between an airport nearest to the successful applicant’s domicile and Tokyo via most direct and economical routing is provided. The tickets provided cannot be converted to cash, nor can cash provided by MIF be used for purchasing air tickets.
  4. Start-up Fund upon arrival: ¥120,000- is provided to cover the initial costs to start a new research stay in Japan.
  5. Study Tour: To promote more profound understanding of Japan’s culture, tradition, and history, MIF organizes a Study Tour during the invitation period in Japan.
  6. Research Report: MIF issues a “Research Report” containing voluntary reports received from the MIF research fellows upon the completion of the MIF research fellowship stay in Japan.
  7. Continued Contact: In order to develop the global network among the fellows even after they go back to the home countries, MIF issues various publications and send them to the fellows.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants of non-Japanese nationality who meet all of the following eligibility requirements are invited to
submit the required application documents.
1. Applicants must obtain a Letter of Invitation from host institutions in Japan.
2. Applicants must hold a PH.D. (Doctorate) degree, or be recognized by MIF as possessing equivalent academic
qualifications.
3. Applicants must be at the age of 49 years old or younger at the time when documents are submitted.
4. Applicants must have sufficient abilities in the English or Japanese languages.
5. Applicants should not have past or current experiences of staying in Japan. (Except for short-term stay. E.g.
sightseeing, conferences)
6. Applicants should be in employment in their home countries, and must return to their countries upon
completion of their MIF fellowship tenure.
7. Applicants must be of sound health.

These fully funded scholarships give talented students – who can be from any Commonwealth country other than the host country – the opportunity to gain a Master’s degree while developing new skills and experiencing life in another country.

Scholarship Funded By:

The scheme, which will be expanded from 2019 and become known as the Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships, is majority funded through the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) endowment fund.

The Ministry of Education and Science of The Republic of Macedonia is offering fully funded scholarship for students who wish to pursue undergraduate studies.

Scholarship Funded By: The Ministry of Education and Science of The Republic of Macedonia is awarding scholarship for foreign students from nationalities which are of interest to the Republic of Macedonia (“Official Gazette” br.169/13). The program for realization of the activities in the field of student standard for 2018.

Location & University: University of Information Science and Technology “St Paul the Apostle” in Ohrid, Republic of Macedonia.

Degree Level: Scholarships are available to pursue undergraduate programme.

(1) Faculty of Communication Networks and Security (CNS);
(2) Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE);
(3) Faculty of Information Systems, Visualization, Multimedia and Animation (ISVMA);
(4) Faculty of Information and Communication Science (ICS)
(5) Study Program of Digital Business Informatics (DBI)
(6) Faculty of Applied IT, Machine Intelligence and Robotics (AITMIR) and
(7) Study Program of E-Government, E-Business and E-Culture.

Macedonian Government Scholarship Benefits:

• Full tuition fees;
• Visa and residence permit fees
• Return air fare from the applicant’s home country;
• Accommodation and food (full board) at the University’s dorm “Nikola Karev” in Ohrid, the Republic of Macedonia for 10 months per year, as well as for the months of July and august if the student does not return home;
• A monthly allowance of 5,000 MKD (approximately 82 EUR) for 9 months per year;
• Primary healthcare insurance

  • Grade B or better in English Second Language at IGCSE
  • An overall band of 6.5 or better in IELTS
  • A score of 550 or better in the paper-based TOEFL (213 for computer-based, 80for internet-based)
  • Subscores of 550 or better in Critical Reading and 550 or better in Writing in SAT
  • Grade 4 or better in the Higher Level English Language (B Syllabus); or grade 5 or better in the Standard Level English Language (B Syllabus); or grade 4 or better in the Higher or Standard Level English Language (A1 or A2 Syllabus); or grade 4 or better in the Standard Level English – Text and Performance; or grade 4 or better in the Standard Level English – Literature and Performance (A1 syllabus) at International Baccalaureate

• Official document certifying the candidate has no criminal convictions and is not under criminal investigation at the moment of application certified with Apostle Stamp.
