Exclusive Interview of Rohayl Varind, Founder of Wall of Humanity

Exclusive Interview of Fatima Lodhi

Times Of Youth: For those who don’t know about you and your work, can you tell us a little about yourself?

HARI LUALHATI: I’m HARI LUALHATI, an ARTIST (Painter, Illustrator, Graphic Artist, Designer); born in Philippines and obtained a Degree in Fine Arts in University of the Philippines, Diliman in year 2006 (Cum Laude). I’ve worked in Manila, Hong Kong, Shenzhen (China), and South Africa. Now, I’m based in South Africa.
Times Of Youth: How would you describe your work to someone who has never known about it?

HARI LUALHATI: “My art is heading towards passionate figurative compositions built up by expressive line strokes and bold brush techniques, necessary for certain emotions to show through. Together, with this, is my rich devotion to details that elevates the artwork’s aesthetics. The profound visual narrative and the techniques used aims to reveal the invisible within the visible.
Though I take into consideration the use of different techniques, I value more the feelings that I put into my works. I paint with my heart. For me, a painting is successful if it can make anyone who would look at it, feel the emotion that it’s suppose to give. It is like delivering a clear message by touching the hearts of the viewers. ”

Times Of Youth: What sparked your initial interest in art?

HARI LUALHATI:  Ever since I was a kid, I was interested in arts. I remember instead of asking my parents to buy me a toy, I would ask them for a colouring book.

Times Of Youth: At what age did you start doing all this work? Has your family always been supportive of this choice of career?

HARI LUALHATI: My family has always been there to support me. Immediately after I’ve finished University, at the age of 21, I started to working to different companies in Philippines, Hong Kong and Shenzhen, China as a graphic artist/ product designer/ illustrator. It was only during 2012, that I have decided to follow my heart, take this huge step and only concentrate on my painting career.

Times Of Youth: Which of your projects are you most proud of and why?

HARI LUALHATI: Each of my artworks has a special connection with me. They are like my babies. I have always learned something new in the process of making them and each reflects a part of me.

Times Of Youth: Where do you see yourself in next 5 years?

HARI LUALHATI: I can see myself  making more art and hopefully exhibiting them in different parts of the world.

Times Of Youth: Any message to your fans or followers via TIMES OF YOUTH?

HARI LUALHATI:  Love your work and always follow your heart.

Times Of Youth: Do tell us how can fans contact you to share their appreciation/feedback/suggestions.
