Times of Youth: For those who don’t know about you and your work, can you tell us a little about yourself?
Asfandyar Junejo: My name is Asfandyar Junejo (AJ). I’m just a regular 21 year old kid who’s been beat boxing since the past 10 years. Its more of a life style than a hobby now.
Times of Youth: How would you describe your work to someone who has never known about it?
Asfandyar Junejo: I would beat box in front of him/her and wait for their jaw to drop before I tell them what I can really do and what I’ve done. 😉
Times of Youth: What sparked your initial interest in beat boxing?
Asfandyar Junejo: I used to watch Disney Channel; it had this show called “That’s So Raven” where this kid called Eddie would beat box every time he got in trouble with his teachers. I thought if I can learn how to beat box it just might save me from my teachers.Moreover Never really got out of any trouble because of beat boxing.
Times of Youth: At what age did you started doing beat boxing? Has your family always been supportive of this choice of career?
Asfandyar Junejo: I was maybe around 11 years or 10 years old and yes my family has been supportive since the start. I would thank my siblings and my parents for all their wishes and support and wish for them a blessed life.
Times of Youth: Which of your projects are you most proud of and why?
Asfandyar Junejo: I featured in an online collaboration with Maati Baani, Santosh Ghante, Rupe and Moti Khan, Kurt Menezes, Komal Rizvi and Omran Shafique. This collaboration was for the peace and unity between India and Pakistan and was released in betweem the both countries independence day.
Times of Youth: Where do you see yourself in next 5 years?
Asfandyar Junejo: Most probably directing movies, short films, documentaries and Music videos, I will keep on working on my beatboxing projects throughout my life though.
Times of Youth: What is one question nobody has ever asked you— that you wish they asked you?
Asfandyar Junejo: The one question nobody ever asked me is “what’s my favorite food” and I wished people ask me that because I love talking about food because I am a foodie.
Times of Youth: Any message to your fans or followers via TIMES OF YOUTH?
Asfandyar Junejo: I would say that don’t lose hope with whatever you do, one day or the other YOU WILL SUCCEED.
