Heartbreaking Report: 1 in 4 children in Pakistan will remain uneducated

New projection by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) show that 1 in 4 Pakistani children will not be completing primary school by the deadline of 2030.

According to UNESCO: The country will only be half-way to the target of 12 years of education for all, with 50 per cent of youths still not completing upper secondary education at the current rates.

This is not the first alarming report there have been several other reports and statistics which exposes the ugly face of education system in Pakistan.
According to Human Rights Watch (HRW) report published in November 2018 nearly 22.5 million children in Pakistan are out of school, the majority of them are girls.

The annual report published by caretaker education minister of Pakistan in July 2018, Mohammad Yusuf Shaikh stated that out of the total 51.53 million children between the age of five and 16, as many as 22.84 million — 44% — were out of school. According to the 2015-16 report, there were 22.63 million out of school children.

According to Dawn News Tweet published in April, 2018 Pakistan stands second in the world ranking of out of school children.

There are still heroes like Mohammad Rohayl Varind who cares for these out of school children. He is trying extremely hard with his innovations like Pakistan’s First Solar Night School & Pakistan’s First Solar School Bags to increase literacy rate of Pakistan. According to Rohayl Varind “If government can replicate my models then Pakistan can decrease it’s illiteracy rate within few months”
