Sada Riyakata - Teacher from Japan

Times of Youth:  How would you describe yourself? Do give us a brief introduction.

I am a teacher; a true teacher; a teacher who has selected this profession not for earning money, but for completing a huge mission of fulfilling a very huge dream which can be simply stated as making the human species realize what's their importance by educating them. I believe that this should be the goal of all teachers.

I am a hard worker who believes that he can change the entire world by his hard work! I believe that humans are the most developed and intelligent species found on earth. I believe that humans have the most strong brain, but unfortunately terrorism and illiteracy have lead human species to use brain improperly. Its my dream to make humans attain their true power which they have forgotten in the daily routines. I believe this can be only done by educating them.

I will simply define myself as a light whose duty is to make the humans open their eyes and see what true world peace is.

Times of Youth:  Who inspired you to take up this profession?

My father was a teacher, and I have seen him while he gave solutions to his students of the problems related to studies, and not only that, he always gave them the solutions of the problems of daily life too. I have always seen his students in good mood and happy and once I asked them, 'why they always felt so happy'. So they replied, "we have all the solutions to the questions which make us feel worried, that's why we are happy". Their answer inspired me to select the same mission of my father to make people feel good by getting educated.

Times of Youth:  If not this, what else would you have taken up as your 2nd career of choice and why?

If I hadn't chosen to teach people, I would have become a politician.
There are simply many reasons for it, but the most important one is that I believe that politicians have the power to change the lives of thousands of people, by making important rules, by beginning many projects for welfare of human species.

Times of Youth:  Do tell us how has your experience has been in your current field so far.

I feel what I have experienced has not been felt earlier by anyone! I believe that nothing feels more good than seeing the satisfied faces of uneducated parents whose children are getting educated! I believe that nothing is better than seing a student thinking in a very good way about any important issue! I always feel like I am an emperor who is building an enlightened nation. I have a huge bunch of many excellent experiences in the field of teaching.

Times of Youth:  On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate yourself as a teacher, honestly?

I'll answer 1. The answer can be very astonishing but my reason for selecting this can pacify that. I have just changed the lives of some students, but when I will change the entire country, then I will say I am on score 5, and when I will change the entire world, then I will say that now I am finally on 10! I am now on first step of ladder which is ending on number 10 and I am working hard to get climb this ladder as fast as I can.

Times of Youth:  What is/are the most challenging aspect/s of your career?

The path I have selected is full of challenges. There many uncountable challenges which I call minor challenges, but these minor challenges lead to a very huge and giant challenge which is to make a peaceful new world containing  educated people.

Times of Youth:  What kind of a student were you in your schooling years?

If I see from my teachers' view, I think that I was a very good student who was only born with the purpose of acquiring knowledge to gain wisdom. But if I see with the sight of my class mates, I feel I was a student who was only in school for purpose of education and not for creating friends, or enjoying life. And at last what I think I was is a blank book; a book which didn't have any thing written on its pages; an empty book who  just went to school to get what every book wants and after this I had to just do what a book should do which is teaching people.

Times of Youth: Who according to you is an ideal student? Have you ever come across any?

In my view, a real student is an empty book who has become a student to get your words on his pages. Honestly I haven't met any ideal student yet, but when I see myself in mirror I find that student.

Times of Youth: Comment on the rational value of today's educational syllabus system. As per you observations, what else should be included/deleted and why?

The biggest fault is that almost every country has almost different syllabus which they are following to educate students. In my view, there should be only one global syllabus, and every country should use it. There should be nothing like local syllabus. The syllabus should contain the study of those subjects which can lead to unity; the subjects which lead the students to think that they are from different origins should be expelled. The syllabus should be simple and global. This will bring unity which will lead to true global peace and harmony.

Times of Youth: Which Guinness world record would you like to set?

I would love to make a new world record of the teacher having largest number of students!

Times of Youth: Who/what is your ideal?

I don't have any ideal person, because I think that every thing in this world has some weakness or imperfections and I don't think that one should make an imperfect being as his/her ideal.

Times of Youth: Which current personalities do you believe are the most influential in today's times, especially for current younger generation?

I will not name those personalities but I will tell you the category in which they all are included and the younger generations love them! They are personalities from music industry, fashion industry and film industry. They are the most influential personalities and everyone follows them and copies everything they do, including hair styles, clothing, etc.

Times of Youth: Please comment on how YOU would like to bring a practical and rational change in the condition of the world using your skills?

What I have experienced is that the students are like computers who need command to work and the role of teachers and parents is to give the command they need, to work or to spend their lives peacefully. So we teachers, by making  the students realize the difference between good and bad, can change the entire world and can bring true peace.

Times of Youth: "Education is a mission, but today it has become a lucrative business” your comment on this?

There are still many people who believe that education is a mission. What I think is that using education as a business is not a bad deal! People need money if they want to live. If the teachers don't get proper returns for what they are doing, then how will they feel like teaching? So in my view education is a mission, but it can be given in exchange of money too.

Times of Youth: What message would you like to give to the youth of today?

I can spend couple of hours to giving the youth some messages. But I will just give them one message "You, the youth of today, have the real power! Do something which not only benefits your community or country, but the entire world! Because the world needs YOU!"
